Packing my suitcases is both a blessing and a curse. It gives me that excitement of creating new outfit combos and an endless stream of items being added to my ASOS wish list, yet it also comes with the worry of trying not to go over my 15KG weight limit and which pair of shoes will end up having to get the boot. This year I decided to stream line the process, because let’s face it, we never wear half of what we pack. Do we? With the end of the Summer season approaching (sob!) the sales are an amazing time to pick up some bargains if you are heading off to sunnier clime’s in September! Are you lucky enough to be heading away this month and be planning your holiday outfits?
A sundress is a must-have item. Although the dreaded chub rub is something to contend with, it actually allows for the air to stream around freely. Phew. The “Sun Worship” dress from Animalwas a perfect fit, not too long and not too short making walking on the beach a lot easier. Along with it being a real summery colour (after its namesake after all,) It went perfectly with my tasselled, straw bag too! You guys absolutely loved it when Animal featured me on their Instagram page too which was so lovely of you.
You’ll have seen this photo pop up everywhere & YES, I did totally feel like a goddess/50’s movie star in this Protest swimsuit. The flowing kimono in the wind & the straw hat also added that “I woke up like this – check me out whilst I look out to sea” kinda vibe to one of my favourite holiday looks. You can read here all about how I decided to embrace some body beach wear confidence for the first time in a long while.
You can’t go wrong with a t-shirt and shorts combo. (Except that time I completely forgot to pack any t-shirts whatsoever when we went to Madeira last year. Oops.) After having that experience and dashing round Funchal’s very large H&M, it became very clear that no holiday wardrobe is complete with out plenty of tee’s. I especially love this one because I’m a Black Sabbath fan! Band t-shirts are a great look with some ripped jeans.
And, of course if you want to jazz up a shorts combo, why not add a cute little Bardot top. This one from Missy Empire was especially cute with the multi-coloured pom poms attached to it. Finished off with my funky, tassel, straw bag I was ready to hit Ibiza town for a bit of sightseeing. The beauty of this outfit is that it can be taken straight to an evening look, add a pair of chunky wedges and you voilà, hit the bars or head to your favourite restaurant.
What are your must-have outfits when you travel? Are you heading away in September?
