CELEBRATING 20 YEARS WITH WHITE ROSE, LEEDS #WR20YEARS | QUEENBEADY
April 7, 2017
Who doesn’t love a good ol’ shopping spree? Not me, that’s for certain! With any opportunity to give my plastic some serious thrashing, I am always ready & raring to go. Ya feel me? And when White Rose, Leeds asked me to style three mannequins for their 20th Birthday Celebrations, I could not have been more involved if I had tried. To celebrate them opening in ’97 (I will have been 7. Yes, 7 years old) we were given £97 per mannequin to create three unique looks. The sheer prospect of it was enough to make me giddy.
I loved the idea of creating a powerful message within the outfit. As you know, when I do fashion posts is very rare I just talk about the outfit, I like to add a little substance. For me, the Feminist tee from Topshop was a great way to do that. I paired it with a mustard yellow faux leather jacket from New Look and finished it off with a pair of black Mom jeans from Zara and barely there heels from New Look, respectively. It was a strong look and I incorporated my love for jazzing up t-shirts!
My second outfit was a more feminine look. The pastel blue dress with buckle detail from Zara is a great Spring-time look. It’s quite versatile so I could easily add a pair of jeans if the weather was a little chilly and make it more of a long top. The grey crossbody bag from Zara was a great find too because I loved the quality and structure of it. Finished with some cute, embroidered sandals – I can’t wait to wear this.
And finally, I create a male look too. I adored this aviator style jacket. I am in love with shearling details. Paired with a tight white tee, black jeans and Chelsea boots, I loved how this look came together because you could really wear it for casual or dressed up event!
Kellie of Big Fashionista’s outfits can be found here (we both got the memo about female empowerment!) and Lucinda from The Fashion Fictionaryalso got involved creating her usual bright & fun outfits too.
After enjoying a little bit of shopping and seeing my mannequins on show (such a fun and surreal moment) we went across to the White Rose Tea Party where we could choose food from some of the participating food outlets that are within the food court. Mum & I had a #CheekyNandos and my sister had a McDonalds. We were kept entertained by a marching band who joined us with some fab tunes. There was also a trio of “waiters” who made the experience all the more, shall we say, surreal. Finishing off with Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and with our tummies full and fit to burst we decided to head home.
It’s a really exciting time for White Rose, with various applications passed for a new entertainment complex, eateries and more shops this place is getting bigger and better! Why not head down to fulfil all your shopping needs?
