COUNTDOWN TO ONROUNDHAY FESTIVAL | QUEENBEADY

September 11, 2016

After my slightly mixed feelings from my 8th Leeds Festival I’ve been pining after another super fun festival that I can get my teeth in. I needn’t have looked far as Leeds latest Music & Food Festival comes in the form of OnRoundhay. The event is taking place on the 17th September which will showcase some of the best musical talent and of course a great selection of local street food traders (just like Piggie Smalls who I’ve had the pleasure to try at a previous YO1 Festival! I mean any trader that can integrate the name of my favourite Rap artist in to their business model is a winner in my eyes.) With John Lewis’ partnership along with Leeds City Council this is going  to be a great day for all the family.

The festival is taking place in the stunning park that is Roundhay Park on 17 September 2016 (less than 6 days to go guys!) With good weather on the horizon it seems the perfect excuse to enjoy the ultimate day out for standout live music which includes Wolf Alice (super excited to see them!) – you can see the rest of the line-up here.  with a food & drink selection to die for, there will also be some awesome entertainment for the kids as well. Making a really family friendly experience! And do you know what makes it even better? Under 12’s can go free y’alll.

In the run up to the festival, Leeds Indie Food the organisers for the event are getting super excited for the event ahead Matt Dix of Leeds Indie Food had this to say:
“We’re really excited to be working with OnRounday to create our dream festival food experience. It’s one of the biggest and best street food line-ups Leeds has seen, with festival favourites like Piggie Smalls hot dogs alongside new talent like Golden Balls, who make wicked arancini. Ox Club’s pit cooking should be a real set-piece too, not something I’ve ever seen at a festival before. We’re chuffed to be welcoming friends like Olia Hercules back to Leeds to do their stuff, and that’s without even mentioning the music! Make sure you come hungry.”

Leeds’ thriving independent scene unites each year for Leeds Indie Food and culminates in one of the best feasts you could ever imagine. The annual festival takes place each May, from secret supper clubs to dine-along cinemas and pop ups, Leeds palette is suitably pleased with over 100 events and I know that with their involvement with the festival, it will contribute to the overall success of OnRoundhay (‘cos girl likes her food, mmkay!) just like the other Music Festivals they have been a part of such as Live at Leeds, The Garden Party and many more.

You can still get hold of tickets if you are fancying a great day out and you can purchase them here – I’ll be heading over to stuff my face and enjoy the festival vibes so I hope to see some of you there too.
