So I wrote a post about where Summer had got to? Then within an hour of the post going live we were subject to temperatures way past 20 degrees Celsius. I now know that all I need to do to win the lottery is write a blog post about “WHERE ALL MA MONEY AT?” (I joke, of course!) so I was a little bit worried to write a post only days later entitled “The sun has got his hat on” that he might go back on his jollies and take his sunshine elsewhere and leave us Brits with the rain, again. I guess I’m going to have to take a risk and we will just have to wait and see, won’t we?

I’ve been really enjoying my style posts recently, probably because working with a local, professional photographer is giving me the confidence boost to a) not feel that stupid when posing in front of them as they see it ALL THE TIME and b) the belief in my blog skills too. There have been so many “How to” guides recently on how you can become a pro-blogger to quit your job and work on your blog full-time. Whilst it looks extremely glossy and wonderful to be able to head out for an iced frappe whenever you feel like it, I think that I get a case of “better the devil you know” when it comes to taking this thing all the way. I couldn’t imagine not knowing where my next pay packet was coming from.

I can’t help but notice that there are so many posts out there also telling you to quit your job and follow your dreams of travelling the world. I will hold my hand up and say I’m guilty of wanting that. So, so, so badly. But then I remember, I have a mortgage, a husband and a little doggy that I have to take in to consideration. I’m sure so many mid-twenty somethings working the 9 – 5, read these articles and question their whole being, I know they have made me. Am I fulfilling my life to it’s full potential? Am I taking risks and grabbing life by the proverbial balls? How can I enrich my life?

The answer is, I actually live a pretty fulfilled life. I don’t mean that in a “ohhhh dahhhhhhling, look at me breezing through life like a dream. Pass me my cocktail, finish my pedicure and watch me be faaaabulous” way, I just mean I’m really grateful for what I have going on in my life. Okay sometimes, I need a little reminder from Mr C, but generally I think of all the things I do & have achieved so far and feel quite content. A good job with prospects, a house, a wonderful husband, lovely holidays, a fantastic family and set of friends. Isn’t that what it’s all about. Having everything in moderation so you don’t feel too overwhelmed but also blessed to have what you do.

Summer Outfits from George At Asda

I write this in hindsight of celebrating mine & my husband’s second Wedding Anniversary this week. I wrote a post here about our first Wedding Anniversary. I woke up to a bunch of flowers and my card sitting on the kitchen work surface when I went down this morning, whilst I moan and moan that my husband needs to be a little more “romantic” he went and did it this morning with no prompting. I got a lump in my throat and realised that I do and have taken him for granted.

Life throws so many curveballs at us, it also makes us question if we are doing a good enough job too. I’m starting to realise just how much I need to appreciate life, be it the glorious sunshine we are having at the moment, to making my husband feel even more loved, just because. I truly hope that whoever reads this is happy with their life and if not, taking steps to make sure that they are happy and doing exactly what they want to achieve that, too. After all, we don’t have to all be gloriously jetting around the world to feel good about ourselves, do we? (Although, it would help wouldn’t it, ha!)
