It was my husband’s final race of the season and we spent the weekend at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire. It was a hoot as always, plus the spectators café was the best one we’ve been to so far. James assures me he loved the track and it was easy to see why with all the twists and turns, along with hills and dips galore. As a (long-suffering) race widow I need to make sure that at all times I’m wearing the cosiest attired – especially for the Winter meets. The ever old-faithful ASOS helped out because I’ve been dying for some bright white sneakers for some time. I love sharing these super casual, weekend wear looks on my blog too because they are so easy to achieve!

Fishermans Jumper and White ASOS Sneakers

The white sneakers have been such a great addition to my wardrobe, they literally go with so much that I just know that they are going to be gracing my feet a lot more (despite it being winter) in fact I think I’m going to pack them for my trip to Amsterdam in December. They are flatform heels so they give me just a little bit of extra height, and as a short person you need an extra inch here or there!

As soon as I saw the fisherman style jumper with the roll neck my eyes went all googly and thought, heck, let’s add that to my ASOS basket too! A girl can never have too many big jumpers for winter and I can tell this is going to be a staple. You’ll have seen from my previous posts my love for a turtleneck or roll neck have been founded and they are firmly seeing me through the winter months. They are perfect for keeping warm.

After a full-on weekend, where my husband placed 2nd in his race that day and also 2nd in his class overall (woo lots of trophies to try and find homes for!) we drank plenty, ate plenty and had such a wonderful weekend with good friends and that’s what I love about both of our hobbies. It’s introduced us to new people and we’ve got friends for life now. When we got back around midday I made a little DIY face scrub and we just relaxed in front of the fire watching a Simpsons marathon, oh and I may have nodded off for half an hour too. All this cheering on for my husband is very tiring, don’t you know?

Do you love keeping your style casual for the weekend? Are there any must-buys for this winter that I need to have? Let me know in the comments below!
