You might be wondering why I’m only just posting February’s Degustabox post. Well, to be honest with you, I have no excuses whatsoever. But, given the lateness of this post it has actually given me chance to munch through these treats one by one without devouring them as soon as the parcel lands on my doorstep.
And February, you did not dissapoint. In fact it has to have been one of my most favourite boxes so far…
Jack Links Beef Snack
Yep, you guessed it – the ol’ beef jerkey. I’ve never let a snack like this pass my little lips so this was a new experience. I have to say whilst I wasn’t too enamoured with the taste it wasn’t the nastiest taste I have ever come across. It was quite thick & juicy which is something I was quite surprised about!
Laimon Fresh Sparkling Lemon, Lime & Mint Drink
This was a really refreshing drink! I drank it with my Paella I made one night (see below) and it was delicious. The mint flavour is a little over powering but you soon get used to it after a couple of sips. However, I’m not sure if I’m ready to give up my fizzier versions of this drink in offer of this just yet.
Beet It Sport Bar
I didn’t actually try these bars, the husband did. I wasn’t prepared to eat them just yet. I’ve just popped my head over his shoulder for his verdict. Sadly they didn’t rate too high. He said they tasted like black treacle and just weren’t to his tastes! He said he could understand if someone who had just done some intense training would definitely reap the benefits of them, though.
Schwartz Flavour Shot Pots
Nom. That is the only word to describe these little pots of heaven. They are a fantastic addition to any meal without losing authenticity of the dish. I made the paella and added this at the crucial point and my goodness it was the best paella I have ever made. It smells really strong but the taste is really intense! I’ve already rushed out to buy a couple more of these.
Whole Earth Cashew, Peanut & Hazelnut Butter
Wow, just wow. I am the biggest fan of peanut butter & this one certainly did not disappoint. My signature snack is peanut butter on oreos (ya’ know, like the scene from Parent Trap – watch it here at 1.50) and boy oh boy, it was good. Safe to say I devoured quite a few!
Original Melba Thins
Sadly, this is nothing that will excite your taste buds, unless you like cardboard, it’s more about what you adorn melba thins with. Mainly I reach for reduced fat hummus and from last months box, piccalilli! Nothing earth shattering here.
Lily O’Briens Cocoa Cookie Crunch
As soon as these photos were taken I dived right in with these (well, I alternated between these and the muffins, there goes the diet!) and my goodness they were preeeeetty tasty to say the least. Because of the little bits of biscuits in them it gave it an extra texture and added so much flavour to each one. These were a hit with Mr C & I. I want more.
American Muffin Company LTD
Choc chip muffins are the bomb. Quite simply. I mean who on earth orders a blueberry muffin over a chocolate infested muffin is a myth I will never understand?! They were soft, gooey and terribly moreish which mean the diet completely went out of the window but, they were so worth it!
Peanut Hottie
I have to hold my hands up and say that this is the only product we haven’t tried out of the box. Funnily enough despite peanut butter being one of my all time favourite food products I just haven’t found the right moment to whip this up. I have seen it on a lot of bloggers instagrams recently saying they love it, so maybe my misconceptions of it being too sweet are null & void. I’m sure you will hear from me if it lives up to more expectations!
Did you get February’s Degustabox? What was your favourite?
