Parisian Chic 4

On Saturday we decided to head in to Leeds for brunch. It’s not something we regularly do but spontaneity ruled that morning and we also needed to return my Zara order too. I wanted to wear my new leather jacket & I have to say I am head over heels in love with it. It’s a hand me down and boy, do I want to wear it all day, everyday. It’s beautiful and so unbelievably soft too. Of course, I had to pair it with my Breton striped top. Did someone say, Parisian Chic?

Of course, all week the sun has shone gloriously yet come the weekend it’s rain, rain, rain. So of course, layering up has been essential of late. We sought shelter at The Alchemist in the Trinity Centre. We arrived about 11am so it was relatively quiet which meant we got a nice spot before the midday cocktail rush! After perusing the menu & licking our lips I settled on the American breakfast, a delight on the senses – waffles with bacon and maple syrup and if you weren’t full enough add 2 poached eggs and a sausage to that too. Of course, Mr C opted for the English which was mammoth plate of meat, hash browns, black pudding beans and more.

He sipped on a very strong latte and I indulged in a mango shake. To say it was delicious would be completely doing down this place. Next time I really need to indulge in a cocktail, because they looked amazing. The wizardry of potions that came from the bar were incredible. It certainly won’t be our last visit either, especially with the views over the city centre I can see this place being a perfect spot for our next visit to Leeds. I guess doing something impromptu is good for the soul & it was so charming to sit and chat away for the next hour or so with James. The simple things in life.

To finish off this very simple outfit I wore my staple Mango cigarette pants, so versatile, I hardly ever take them off. My leather handbag (that is so reminiscent of the vintage Chanel bag!) was bought in Italy on our honeymoon and it’s the perfect bag to take out shopping. It’s extremely hard wearing too.

Weekends are wonderful and I most certainly never want them to end. I hope more weekends can be spent indulging in the simple pleasures of heading out for brunch and watching the world go by. I hope your Sunday is currently spent doing something you love and enjoy. Today we’ll be visiting family as there are a lot of family birthdays this weekend!

Have you tried The Alchemist in Leeds? What’s your favourite cocktail on the menu – what should I try when I make my next visit?
