This whole outfit is made up of hand me downs. I bet you thought you’d never read that on a fashion/style blog did you? Normally it’s big sisters who have to hide their clothes in fear of their younger siblings stealing them from you, but in our family it’s the other way round. Lucky for me though, my sister get’s bored of her clothes pretty quickly and every time we visit one another she has another big bag full ready for me to rummage through. It’s a win win situation for me!

There’s nothing more that I enjoy when I get to rummage through all the goodies. The thing is, Jessica tends to shop at Topshop and really good high street stores so normally I end up taking everything and trying to find a home for it on my many rails of clothes.

I’ve got a little love for Mom jeans at the moment, in fact my last blog post featured another pair too. There’s nothing nicer than just have a total casual day & not having to make much effort, think big jumpers and cosy bottoms but the thing with this outfit is, add a pair of heels like I have done and it transforms it from cosy cottage chic with hot chocolate and endless Netflix to bringing my major A-game, think fashion editor chic. You know the style, looking like you aren’t trying at all but my god it looks good on every level. Pah, am I tooting my horn or what?

I’m loving experimenting with new clothes, even more so when they are free (my sister assures me this is for my birthday! Thanks sis!) people often turn their noses up at hand me downs, but instead, I embrace them. I like to give them a new lease of life. My sister and I have very similar styles of what we like but we wear outfits completely different and I love that no two outfits are the same.

I’m all about layering at the moment, it’s so cold and my body is not acclimatising to it well, especially since we got back from a very hot and humid Mexico. Normally I’m too hot and can’t control my body from over heating, so strangely I’m having to layer up, a lot, not that I’m complaining – it means I can give all my new wears a test drive.

I have a huge love for thrifting and charity shopping too. I’ve found some seriously envious buys lately from a 100% leather Timbaland jacket to a pair of brand new patent leather Zara heels; all for a grand total of £13.50. I couldn’t shy away from the fact I have got some steals. I’ve helped a couple of charities AND I can give these clothes a new home (much to my husband’s delight!) I’m not kidding, I have no idea where to put all my clothes at the moment. It’s become a little scandalous.

Have you been thrifting lately, have you found some amazing bargains that you just couldn’t turn down? Or like me, do you clothes swap with your sisters? Let me know in the comments below.
