Fabulous Five #1 | QueenBeady

June 2, 2016

Grafitti

I know when I start a “series” type of post they generally fall by the wayside after about a month, like my Mindfulness Monday posts that I started at the beginning of the year. I don’t know why I can’t keep them up, after all this blog has been going for 5 years or so now. I’m not quite sure when I’ll run out of things to say but for some reason I’m never too great at keeping up with these style of posts. With various blogs like this around already written by other bloggers, it might seem silly to add another one to the list, however, I realise it’s a nice little way to document some of the things that have made me smile and I want to capture the small things too. I hope by not putting a huge amount of pressure on myself to post this on a particular day of the week, might ignite more of a passion to write them. I want to look back on my blog and see it as a little diary for me to remember good times! So without further ado, I bring you Fabulous Five, numero uno.

1. A Weekend in Oslo

Of course, the post had to start with our weekend break to Oslo, Norway this weekend just passed. I bought this back in December for Mr C’s birthday present and boy, have I been looking forward to it. The city is so clean and so beautiful. The flights were only £45 each and I managed to pick up a great deal on the HTL Grensen which was amazing, I’m surprised it is classed as a more budget type of hotel. We pottered around, mainly eating food and slowly drinking beer (do you know how much a beer is in Norway? £9! I shit you not.) we also took a boat trip round the Oslo Fjord which was a great afternoon spent. There’s nothing I enjoy more than spending a whole weekend in a new city, exploring with my husband. I’ll be writing a more in-depth post or two (you might even get a vlog, guys) so hold tight guys.

2. An impromptu Chinese Takeaway

It’s very rare that we decide on a Chinese takeaway anymore, sadly, there just isn’t any really nice ones near us. But on Tuesday night we were short on time as we had to do our weekly shop and pick up the dog from family whilst we had been away. We tried somewhere new and it was actually delicious. However, James still isn’t convinced that we will have Chinese as much but it was nice to finally get a nice one in my belly!

3. We booked our next trip to Nice

I am so very grateful for the opportunities that Blogging brings my way, and whilst I sadly had to say “no” (insert crying hard emoji!) to a fabulous press trip with Jet2Holidays to Majorca, we actually managed to secure our flights to Nice where I will be collaborating with University Rooms on a review of their accommodation. I’ve never been to Nice before but I’m so excited to explore the south of France. It’s been high on my hit lit for some time now. I’m already ticking off the days on the calendar (terrible I know!) but it is only 5 and a half weeks till we go now. I’m delighted to say the least.

4. Binge watching Two & a Half Men

Mr C is often heard howling at this programme every now & then,  but he was adamant that I sit down and watch it with him. So we have got hold of season 1 and are currently making our way through the first series. We make a point of putting our phones down and giving it all our attention, it is amazing the jokes you miss when you have a phone glued to your hand. It’s a rather light hearted programme that never fails to make me laugh, plus it really distresses me. Sometimes it really is the small things!

5. Blogging for Bloggeration Mag & The Olive Foxes

I have finally submitted my second piece for the Bloggeration Mag which I am the Northern Blog Editor for. Sometimes working full time and writing my own blog can be quite hard, so I always feel super pleased when I can finally sit down and put a piece together for the other online blogs I work with. I also wrote this piece for The Olive Foxes a couple of weeks ago where I opened my heart about owning my own house & why I feel that I can’t always shout about my achievement.

What have you been loving this week?
