PLANNING OUR FRENCH ADVENTURE | QUEENBEADY

french adventure

Well pals, we’re finally going on a (little) multi centre trip in June this year and I am stoked. There’s so much we have planned during our 10 nights of dashing around France that I feel like writing it all down makes it seem a little less daunting. With it being the hub’s 30th Birthday this year, the trip will be all the more special celebrating the next decade of his life (cripes!) We’re also travelling with Mr C’s cousin and girlfriend too, so it’s going to be a LOL a minute, there’s no doubt! We have a Music festival, sightseeing in Paris, A day at Disneyland followed by a few nights relaxing on the French Riviera to cram in.

PARIS

We arrive in Paris on the first day, and before we make our way out to the suburbs of the city to our Air BnB, we want to leave our bags in a locker at Gare Du Nord Station and spend the afternoon sightseeing. We can’t check in till early evening so we thought it was a good idea to possibly check out the sights. Having only ever driven through Paris, or passed it on the train it will be dreamy to finally head to the top of the Eiffel Tower and grab those money shots. Maybe even hop on a River Seine cruise.

I’m trying to convince everyone to grab one of the world-famous Ladurée Hot Chocolates before we whizz back on the train to our apartment. I imagine once we get settled in to our home from home, we will do a quick Carrefour shop for beers and food before we head to Download Festival for the next two days.

DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL WITH FESTICKET

I’m super excited to be collaborating with Festicket with a couple of days at Download Festival. My husband is a major fan of rock music, so for his 30th Birthday we are going indulge in a bit of head banging. (I can already see you laughing at your computer screen!)

I’ll be honest, the line up at Leeds Festival is more “my scene”, but, I can’t wait to see Marilyn Manson and Ozzy Osbourne live on stage. It’s going to be one heck of an experience!

I may have been a bit naughty and bought a Longchamp backpack for the occasion as I’ll need a small enough bag to follow bag regulations at the festival, but one that can still fit my camera, some suntan lotion (‘cos lord knows, there needs to be sunshine at festival abroad!) phone and purse in. And, after all, it is a French brand so it would have been rude not to purchase it.

We’re about half an hour away from the festival on public transport so we need to factor in travelling around, getting from A to B, but I’m sure once we get there we will find our bearings!

BACK TO PARIS

We needed to make sure we fit at least one night in the city of love. I’m a little bit excited about it too, as we get to stay at the Insta-worthy hotel, The Hoxton.

As you can imagine, getting to spend some more time in Paris has my “Instagram-feed eyes” on. I want to sit in quaint little bars sipping beer, eating steak frites, watching the world go by and the ever-so-chic Parisians go about their daily business.

Getting to the top of the Sacré-Cœur for far-reaching views over the city is something I’ve wanted to do since watching “Monte Carlo” with Leighton Meester. (LOL, I know, so cool right?)

I would love to make sure we see the Eiffel Tower light up at night and I want to prance around the Galeries Lafayette pretending I can afford a designer handbag. A girl can dream right?

Then I can’t wait to head back to our hotel room at the Hoxton for a good nights sleep for an early start to head to Disneyland Paris the next morning.

DISNEYLAND PARIS

What trip is complete to Paris without a whistle-stop tour to Disneyland? I’ll be visiting for my 6th time and taking some new timers with me. We aren’t staying a Disney hotel, purely for the fact I wish I could wave £600 in their face for a 1 night stay and day pass to the parks, but alas, I’m a mere pauper and will stay at the Kyriad Hotel. We’ve already stayed there a few years ago, it’s simple yet it still has a bus to the parks – and for 90 euros a room, for 2 it doesn’t make my purse, gasp!

I’m definitely all about getting the thrill rides in. My favourite being Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain. I’m hoping I can brave the Aerosmith Rock n’ Rollercoaster this time! I’d love to end the night watching the parade and fireworks.

I just want to feel like a kid again, even if it is only for 12 hours.

FRENCH RIVIERA

For the last leg of our French Adventure, we are heading down the south coast of France (flying in to Nice) we have 4 nights here to relax (after a rather frantic the first half of the holiday.) We just want to relax.

This is the only destination that we’ve not booked any accommodation for yet. We have various ideas, we just don’t want to stay in the centre of Nice as we have already been there in a couple of years ago.

I’ve got my eye on a dreamy, seafront apartment in Menton but there’s also Antibbes and Eze on my hit list for french markets and cobbled streets.

Ideally we want a seaside spot where we can relax and chill out with a few french beers each day. I mean, how bliss does that sound?

If we do end up staying in Menton, it’s not too far from the Italian border so we could even spend a day in one of my favourite countries too. I’m probably going to be a little bit sad when we have to come home!

I’m super excited for our trip. Have you done a trip similar to this? I’d love to know what you did so we can get some cool ideas for when we are there!
