Ah, it’s Christmas time and the dreaded onslaught of deciding what to get someone for the big day is well and truly throwing some curveballs out there for you. It can be a tricky time when you can’t buy for the person who has everything or someone who won’t give you any clues about what they want. For someone like me who loves travel and enjoys nights away I can’t expect that everyone would want to send me to some far-flung destination like the Caribbean for a week of five-star all inclusive luxury or pay for me to head to a spa retreat in the foothills of Austria as a Christmas present.

I’m very realistic and I recognise that there are other ways to treat someone who enjoys travel as much as I do. It doesn’t always have to be travel vouchers to spend a night at a fancy hotel or bottomless brunches in your favourite city, you can bring travel in to the home, so here I have 5 perfect prints from Desenio for all travel lovers!
If you’re like me, you’ll have a favourite city that you want to keep travelling back to time and time again. For me, that place is Amsterdam and I treated myself to this huge print of the city map for our new home. I love how simple the design is in black & White and I know this will fit perfectly in our grey-scaled front room. When I look at it I often find myself tracing my fingers down the tiny lines that are the streets I’ve wandered many times before. It makes me want to book a flight or two back to where I consider my second home. Which city map would you choose?
I was so tempted by these vintage posters for the Cote D’Azur, Paris and Norway. Purely because they are three destinations I’ve been to (and loved!) but what I really liked about them was the pop of colour that they would add to a wall if you are trying to go for that retro-vintage vibe. Looking at the different options such as Barcelona (a destination I will tick off my bucket list next year!) NYC and Miami, I’m now dying to visit all the places they have these cool prints for! (Why do I do this to myself?!)
Do you or a loved one have a special landmark that brings back lots of memories to you? Perhaps you got engaged watching the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower or watched your first sunset together over the Colosseum drinking a luke-warm glass of red wine. Maybe you took a gap year and travelled around in a battered, old VW camper van around Australia. Whatever those fond memories may be, gifting something that brings back those fuzzy feelings again are a sure-fire way to someone’s heart. For me, I’d have to choose something that reminded me of our honeymoon in Italy!
Okay, a quote might seem a little cheesy, but I do love a good travel quote that only encourages me to embrace my itchy feet and to travel the world! I’ve always had an incurable case of Wanderlust that it only seems right to have the meaning of the word emblazoned across my living room walls so that I don’t ever forget my taste for travelling. I also think this print is super cute – “together is my favourite place to be.” After all, as long as I have my husband, the perfect travel partner, with me on our adventures then that’s all that matters to me.
If you read my blog you’ll know I love the outdoors. There’s something so very calming about getting outdoors with nature and embracing it for all it is. Bringing the outdoors in is something I want to try do with lots of house plants but these gorgeous Nature Photography prints could also help. I’ve always loved being near water, it chills me out no end so this Sea Foam print would definitely give me that inner zen! And, if you follow my Instagram you will know just how much I love green tones and this Forest print is something I could only dream of capturing myself!
I really hope that you have found some inspiration either for a loved one or even for yourself. We can’t always be travelling because, hey real life (jazzy I know), so being able to enjoy it from the comfort our home makes it just that bit easier knowing we aren’t heading on a plane anytime soon.
