LETTY WOMEN’S DOWN TRESPASS JACKET REVIEW | QUEENBEADY
December 10, 2018
With Winter well and truly in the swing of things my winter coats have also been dragged out of the woodwork. One of my favourites is my all-year-round Letty Women’s Down Trespass Jacket. I was gifted this coat in the Spring of 2017 and to be honest, it’s very rarely left my back on the outdoor adventures I find myself on.
STYLE
Let’s be honest, outdoor clothing isn’t the most stylish and it’s often hard to find a nice balance between being overly fashionable for a walk in the countryside to looking like a geography teacher that looks like they live in the woods. Well, luckily the Letty jacket from Trespass teeters on the line of being stylish and practical. It’s not overly padded so I don’t look like I’m a Phil Mitchell, club bouncer wannabe and the sleek black colour of it means I can pair with almost everything I want to wear. It’s a classic outdoor coat design but somehow, it just seems “cooler.”
When you compliment a woman on her outfit choice, chances are we will slip our hands in to the garment and say, “AND IT HAS POCKETS.” Pockets are a game changer for us and the Letty has two fabulously large, zip up pockets. I can usually fit my iPhone 7 plus, small purse and keys in them for safe keeping meaning if I’m going on short trips or journey’s a bag isn’t always necessarily needed – which also means less time deciding which bag to use or wear with the coat! See, I told you pockets were important to us.
PRACTICALITY
Because of the design that incorporates 80% padding and 20% down feathers – it’s super lightweight so I don’t feel like I’m weighed down by its padding. I think that’s what makes it so perfect for everyday wear. I can be hiking around the Peak District one minute and the next pottering about a quaint little, flat-road town where not much effort is required. It’s the perfect amount of coziness without feeling like I want to take all my clothes off because I’m too hot (and that is not a good thought!)
WEAR & TEAR
I’ve washed the coat several times now, after getting it covered in mud (and after being a very good friend to me at Leeds Fest 2017!) and it hasn’t lost any of its down feathers and that’s all down to the sophisticated design of the downproof lining. That means none of the filling can escape! And, whilst it’s lost a teeny bit of it’s “puffy-ness” it’s not lost any of it’s warmth at all!
