I’m AD | 5 SUMMER DATE IDEAS IN BOSTON SPA, YORKSHIRE

AD Includes paid promotion | I love my little village and it’s a great place for date night ideas in Boston Spa, Yorkshire. If you want to stay local there’s no need to head to the big towns or cities anymore. It’s a wonderful spot to start if you’re thinking of staying local and still making it a romantic. It could be your first date after trawling a local Yorkshire dating site and you want to make a good first impression or perhaps, like us you’ve been together for a while & you’re looking for something fun to do? I’ve got you covered.

GRAB A PICNIC FROM CORA AND HEAD DOWN TO THE RIVER WHARFE

We are blessed with beautiful, scenic spots here in Boston Spa. Not least the stunning River Wharfe that runs directly between Boston Spa and Thorp Arch. Our latest addition to the high street is the oh-so cool bake house and dining room, Cora. Boasting a wine cellar and tasting menu’s including dishes such as Sourdough Consomme, smoked eel, cured ham and Chai Pie’s.

They also offer a picnic hamper service during the summer complete with cute picnic baskets, beautiful wines and four courses to enjoy right next to the river for £70. If that is a little bit out of your price range we have lots of cute little deli’s that you can pick up snacks and nibbles from too.

DINE IN STYLE AT THE NEWLY OPENED CROWN HOTEL

The Crown Hotel has been standing in disrepair for many years so when word on the grapevine that the powerhouses behind venues such as Belgrave Music Hall & Headrow House had taken the keys, the village got very excited and boy was it worth the wait. In the few months it’s been open I would say we have visited bi-weekly (if not most weeks!)

It’s been pulled apart and put back together in the most spectacular way. With it’s ultra cool conservatory with bi-folding doors, to it’s traditional style snugs and then there’s the Mediterranean style al fresco gardens which are perfect in the summer months. There is something for everyone. Aside from the dreamy interiors, the food is stunning too. My personal favourites are the Thai style beef salad and the half-roasted chicken dishes, the wine selection is to die for and the salted caramel espresso martini’s are a hill I’m willing to die on. It’s almost like the place has always been there and is already a firm favourite with lots of locals.

FEEL LIKE YOU’RE ON THE AMALFI COAST AT DA CARLO’S

If you’re looking for a no-thrills, authentic Italian experience, our latest little find is Da Carlo’s. Dine al fresco and chow down on some of the tastiest Italian dishes within at least a 15 mile radius of the village. We’re blessed with two Italians in Boston Spa but this cute little spot pips the other to the post. The one thing I love about this place is how good it is on the purse strings. We ate a three course meal with not one, but two bottles of wine and it came to £90 (and we spent hours there.) We were finished off with a shot of limencello too. The staff here are fabulous making this place even more special. You won’t be disappointed!

GET ACTIVE ON THE EBOR WAY WALKING ROUTE

If dining out is not your thing, why not take yourselves off on a days worth of stomping the local countryside by joining up to the Ebor Way walking paths. We also have scarecrow trails in the Summer, along with lot’s of blue plaques in and around the village to hunt down. Boston Spa used to be known for it spring water which used to rival Harrogate, but the growth of the larger town shadowed over Boston Spa and saw it’s decline of the Spa Baths. That is still not to say it’s worth visiting, because this limestone village could take on the Cotswolds or even the South of France with it’s beautiful farmhouses and Georgian architecture. And, if you’re lucky, you might spot the local otters!

BRUNCH NOT LUNCH AT TOM FOOLERY

Another one to add to your list is Tom Foolery. It’s been around for a few years now (and they have the Lazy Bird in neighbouring Wetherby which is also worth a visit!) and their brunch dishes are unrivaled. So, if you’re looking for something a little more low-key this is the place for you. They always have good tunes playing and there’s a really relaxed atmosphere, plus the avo on sourdough is *chefs kiss*. An absolute high street staple!

I hope this sparked some ideas for you for your next date night or if you’re looking for a special someone to share a date with head to this Yorkshire Dating Site.
