We agreed a time and a place to meet. I was pretty nervous as it was my first time, I wasn’t sure about him. I think he’d done it plenty of times before. When we met he made me feel pretty comfortable and it made everything seem so much easier. As we found a spot, somewhere pretty secluded just on the outskirts of the city centre, he took of his bag and pulled out his impressive piece of camera equipment…

WAIT. What did you think I was gonna say? You pesky little things you! For all you naughty buggars out there, this was my first time actually in front of a professional photographer for the sole purpose of this blog. Matt contacted me via Twitter after working with another local blogger – it was time to just bite the bullet and try it out, I mean everyone else does, right?

I’m generally used to standing in front of a tripod and timer or my husband who occasionally manages to get one or two shots before his mind wanders and gets bored. So, when the file of 97 photos landed in my inbox the other day I couldn’t believe just how many photos I was happy with. For someone who manages to delete pretty much most of the photos I get of myself, it was a Christmas miracle.

Matt, I don’t know what you do but I think it has to be some sort of wizardry, surely? But on a serious note, I think it’s because he’s just so darned nice and natural making it really easy to do some of those tried & tested blog poses we all love and know. You can go follow his amazing talent over on instagram too!

We headed to a spot just behind the Corn Exchange in Leeds which was relatively quiet with only a few passers by. My little sister acted like a little assistant holding all my bags whilst I went to strike a few poses (what a babe?) She’d be rewarded with shopping and burgers later on!

It was unbelievable how easy it was to get in the swing of things. I guess it helps wearing a super cute outfit. Hashtag humble brag. But seriously, this super cute top is the garment of dreams. It’s actually an ASOS piece (of course, what else?) but via the wonderful app from Octer. It’s a great new online site where you can find all of your favourite high street and online retailers in one place, making online shopping super easy (as if I needed another reason to shop online already?)

I made it super casual by pairing them with my frayed hem jeans from New Look and my trusty Birkenstocks. Albeit, not the most glamorous outfits but heck, if we all walked around in stilettos and dresses all day long would we actually get anything done?

It kinda had that “Hey, I’m just jetting off on a plane to Santorini bitches, gonna drink loadsa mojitos and generally live the life and yallll gonna be a little bit jealous!” kinda vibe to it. This whole get up will no doubt be coming with me on our next trip abroad because it most definitely has that whole holiday thing going on, wouldn’t you say?

I can’t wait to catch up with Matt again, hopefully it will be a little bit longer than the fifteen to twenty minutes we spent together, working with a professional has really boosted my confidence and we all need that little boost every once in a while. So if you’re a Leeds/Yorkshire blogger I’d highly recommend getting in touch, but please make sure there’s still room for me. Soz Matt, but you haven’t seen the last of me just yet!

Have you ever had your photos taken professionally for the blog? Or do you get friends and family to do it? I’d love to know what you think of this outfit too!
