3 THINGS TO STOP YOU FROM FAILING

It seems a very bold title, doesn’t it?

“3 THINGS TO STOP YOU FROM FAILING.”

I can’t offer you the exact answers to the above statement because the same rules don’t fit for all, but, hear me out. I want to shine a light on the reasons why you aren’t maybe being quite as successful as you want to be, whether it be your blog, career, to everything else in between. It’s so easy to get swamped with the dreaded “Imposter Syndrome” or feeling like you’re never picked for anything.

Let me break it down to you Hunnies, it’s not about luck, or the amount of money you have in your bank or looking a certain way. It’s about sheer hard work, a healthy mind-set and the determination to create opportunities for yourself that can benefit you on the regular. And, once people realise that things aren’t always handed on a gratuitous, golden, shiny plate, the easier it is to implement things in to our life on a daily basis, without it feeling like a chore.

And, shhhhh, they are really simple things too!

GRAB YOURSELF A PLANNER.

I can categorically say, that when I have a diary / planner in my life, I am my most organised. I can’t hack a google calendar, nor can I stand an iPhone one either. I’m all about writing everything down that I have planned, it’s almost cathartic to get it all out on paper – out of my brain. My planner from Ponderlily could not have come at a better time as I’m working on so much content at the moment that I need to know exactly where I am and when I’m doing things because, boy, my schedule is looking crazy-busy at the moment. This delicate planner has everything you need to get every aspect of your life in order and it’s also made with eco-conscious materials – making it environmentally friendly (and might pretty too!)

I went a whole year without a diary last year and it had to be one of the hardest years to navigate with where I was and what I was doing at a glance. I was having to rack my brains, saying yes to things and double-booking. It was hard to keep on top of and regularly had to cancel – which often led me to feeling like an absolute failure. So, in spite of that I’m making sure that this year I get my s%*t together!

And, to mark 2018 as the year I do that, there’s a discount code “QUEENBEADY18” which entitles you to an 18% discount off one order. Click here to order!

START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE AFFIRMATION.

I don’t know about you, but when I write all the wonderful things that have happened over the last couple of days I find I start the day with a grateful heart.

Take such as, most Monday mornings (one of the most dreaded days of the week!) I take to Instagram and write 5 Happy Things over the last week that have brought a little bit of joy in to my life. The more I think about the good things that have happened, the better I feel about going in to the working week.

It can be the small things, the big life events, to everything in between that can make you smile from ear to ear. Once you remove yourself from dwelling on the negatives, or trying to draw a positive from a negative situation you start to look at the world a bit differently!

LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES, DON’T JUST LET THEM COME TO YOU.

When I actively started searching for my own opportunities, and not waiting for them to arrive in my inbox it gave me this sense of confidence. That I was successful enough to approach brands and tell them why they needed to work with me. People are so scared of doing this. But, when you start to see your blog as your own little business you become less fearful of rejection. And, if you are rejected, you move on to the next.

If there’s a brand you want to work with but don’t know where to start, it’s worth googling the brand and “PR company” to see what results come up. Get a decent proposal outline put together and whizz it off.

LinkedIn is also a great place for finding new contacts and you can use the InMail facility to message people too. Kirsty wrote a fabulous post about making the most of LinkedIn and how to use it effectively. Using it to create discussions and garner feedback has made me use it completely differently to other social sites. I have found some valuable contacts from using it more often.
