6 THINGS GIRL BOSS TAUGHT ME | QUEENBEADY

I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t manage to bosh all of Girl Boss on Netflix in less than 2 days. It’s an addictive series. The tale of Sophia Amuruso, the creator of Nasty Gal is one of those rags to riches stories where there’s some amazing high and some ridiculous lows. Maybe it’s kinda cos I have a bit of a girl crush on Britt Robertson – hello epic style and bangs that blow my mind? It’s a show that you feel pretty invested in if you make it past the first couple of episodes. Oh & yeah I did cry during the season finale. I blame the hormones. Whatever reason you watched it, there are some pretty valuable lessons to be learnt from it.

IT’S OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT

Man, I have asked myself time and time again (mainly growing up) why my nose is crooked or why I let certain things bother me. Why I wasn’t always the coolest and why I am incredibly dorky in social situations. But I’ve come to realise the older I get the more I realise that being that little bit different is what sets me apart from other people. Our DNA is different and therefore, in the same vein, is okay to be different. The more I realised it wasn’t healthy to compare myself to others, the more I embraced my indifferences and became nearly 99.9% happy with the person I am.

DON’T LET PEOPLE SQUASH YOUR DREAMS
It’s not fair to let people tell you what is and what isn’t possible in your life. If you are wanting to do something that you feel will benefit you and your nearest & dearest (without hurting anybody in the process) I say go for it. Go and kick ass with whatever it is you are dreaming about and prove to those who don’t necessarily believe in you that you are so very willing to work for it and make it a success. That will scupper any of the neigh-sayers along the way!

LET GO OF THE DICK WHO TREATS YOU BAD
There is always someone in your life that will treat you as if you are disposable for no apparent reason. It’s time to say a huge, resounding BUH-BYE to those suckers. Whether it be a bad friend, a cheating boyfriend or a family member that just won’t accept you for who you are. They will drag you down and revel in your failures and never be there to celebrate your successes either, whilst still claiming how much they “love you”. Do you really need that kinda negativity in your life? No. Didn’t think so. Kick them to the curb.

VINTAGE STYLE KICKS ASS
I’ve realised recently that every single item I buy does not have to come from ASOS, just because of the unlimited delivery obvs, and I’ve started finding some absolute gems in charity shops recently and boy have I found some amazing pieces. A MaxMara top for £1.99 and more… Seriously, it’s brightened up and made my wardrobe look way cooler recently.

NEVER STOP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF
Be your own biggest supporter when no-one else will be, for those who won’t shout loud enough for you. You have to believe in yourself no matter if others don’t. Everyone needs a cheerleader in their life, someone who keeps them going even in the darkest times. When you start to believe in yourself you become that person and boy, does it feel great. Keep going because you might surprise yourself.

And finally, a kick ass outfit can make you feel a million dollars! So never feel bad for buying them shoes 😉

Have you watched the Netflix series yet? Did you learn anything from watching it?

And what on earth should I watch to fill the Girl Boss void?
