There is a real cafe culture blossoming on our local high street, it’s a lifestyle that I love to embrace. There is nothing nicer than meeting a friend for a coffee, setting worlds to rights and not having to worry about the time. Whilst you are spoilt for choice with various eateries in Boston Spa, Moo, is a firm fixture that has been here for years and quite possibly paved the way for others.
It’s a smallish little hole, but what it lacks in space it certainly makes up for in character. From the various little ‘’cow’’ references in around the place, to the vivacious, kind members of staff to the cosy throws on the old school bench that you can sip coffee on with old friends. It’s a cute little establishment that seems to keep me coming back time & time again. My favourite tipple is the hot chocolate. Alas, no powdered cocoa here. Only the finest chocolate drops to create a creamy drink, I have these on treat days. It is absolutely dreamy.
The great thing about this place is that it isn’t the usual ‘’rubbish’’ you’d find in a chain. Everything is homemade, all different recipes each day that Jane & Paul have chosen. The variety is great and it’s always a joy to try new foods given the opportunity. However, they do have firm fixtures each day and one of them is the Feta & Spinach pie. One word, times by two. NOM NOM. This mixed with the various homemade salads is just delicious. Slightly indulgent but divine all the same. Sweet treats are on offer to, my favourite has to be the oat flapjack, it is so gooey that it just melts in your mouth.
For me, interior design plays a huge part in me enjoying a place. There is nothing worse than staring in to wall of a cafe that has no character or charm. I want to feel like my visual senses are pleased to. It sounds crazy, but I kinda want it to tell me a story. Moo does just that. I love the lights they have centre play in the window, super cool & edgy. I have taken some inspiration and want to incorporate some bulbs like this at our house.
If you find yourself round these parts, it is somewhere I would highly recommend you pop by for. You won’t be disappointed at all.
Do you have a cute little deli style cafe near you? What are their signature dishes?
