If there is one thing that is on my mind constantly (no, not that you dirty buggars!) it’s food. Food is pretty much all I think about. After all, it is what keeps you alive & kicking. So when the #YorkshireBloggers meet was taking shape for the May meet by the lovely Fran at A Style Creative and the words food were involved. I was allll over it like a rash. I’m a girl who likes her meat (okay, I will try stop with the innuendo’s here, but you stop being naughty pasty’s too!) so I was extremely sceptical over the suggested venue, Bundobust Leeds. It’s a vegetarian spot that caters its guests with foreign curries and Indian style market food along with delicious and unique craft beers too. When looking at the menu though, I needn’t have worried!

Because I had no idea what the food was, it was like a lucky pick. If it sounded good then it most probably was. I picked the Egg Bhurji which is essentially scrambled egg but with delicious spices such as cumin, ground coriander, pepper and chilli and as a side I went for the Okra fries which were fried lady fingers in a chick pea powder. To say they were both delicious would be an understatement. With every mouthful another flavour just popped out of nowhere, sometimes hot and spicy, other times more delicate. I certainly chose well. But everyone’s food looked equally as tasty. If I were to go from the sounds coming from around the table it certainly resonated a group of happy, belly filled, Yorkshire bloggers, that’s for sure!

The amazing selection of beers were something to behold. so whilst we let our food digest we all sat back with a drink and discussed all sorts of things. I chose a Mango beer going on from the suggestion of my lovely friend, Fran from Then Let’s Begin. She had been privy to one before and said it tasted like juice and she wasn’t far wrong either. It was so yummy & it really quenched my thirst after a spicy meal.

It’s so great to be around bloggers. It’s so nice not to have to explain to someone what you do for a hobby without those blank expressions and the ”so basically you write a diary, post for photos & people actually read it?” comments. It’s quite inspiring listening to people’s aspirations too. Be it in the blogging world or not, it’s nice to see drive and ambition and it’s even better to be someone’s cheerleader and encouraging them to do it too. I’ve said it before & I will say it again, blogging has done me the world of good. It’s made me get out there and make new friends that I wouldn’t necessarily have ever made in a million years, our paths just would not have crossed. I have given myself that opportunity by pushing myself and attending get-together’s like this and it makes me a little proud of myself. A steady job and a set of friends you & your husband share is never going to give you new friendships and now I have a few that I know I can really count on. I love it.

It was great to meet other local bloggers such as Natalie from The Tofu Diaries, Adele from H is for Homes and Anna from Anna International – in an unlikely world of meeting nice people (I know, they are rare to find!) I managed to meet some wonderful girls who I hope I can keep in contact with.

Have you tried out Bundobust yet? Or better yet, made some great friendships through blogging?
