Back in June I was so excited to be invited to join the campaign #ThisGirlCan with Boohoo. I couldn’t wait to visit their Manchester studios to view their Boohoo Fit Range, where we would be pampered and treated to our own photo shoot for this great cause. Having joined the gym back in March I’m always on the look out for new work-out wear and it’s difficult to find good, supportive pieces that are also reasonable too. The gym isn’t necessarily about being a fashion show, however, looking good whilst you sweat gives me a major feel good factor! The #ThisGirlCan campaign wants to tackle the stigma of working out, making sure all girls, of all ages, sizes and capabilities are getting out and doing some sort of sport activity each week & feel good when they do it!

After meeting up with some fellow bloggers at Manchester Piccadilly Station, we were all giddy for the day ahead. On arrival we were treated to a scrumptious breakfast & for the first time ever I got to try avocado on toast (I mean, am I even a real blogger?!) along with a gorgeous fruit yoghurt and coconut water it was a great way to start our day, especially after such an early start. Boohoo HQ are treated to this delicious banquet each day so it was great to see that they try and encourage a healthy diet and lifestyle at work too, especially when the working day is so manic.

Our outfits had all been handpicked for us from the Boohoo Fit Range & I couldn’t wait to see what had been chosen for myself. As a slightly larger busted gal, I need to have something that provides plenty of room and the top I was wearing was airy & spacious, which is exactly what I like from my sportswear tops! My make up was done by a lovely girl who was so accommodating of my more natural look, she was so complimentary too which made me feel like a million dollars, can I order one of her please?

Myself and Rachel from RachelNicole.co.uk were the first girls to have their hair & make up done so off we went to our little photoshoot, it was great fun having someone by my side doing this. As someone who can be quite shy with posing in front of an audience it helped bring me out of my shell & we had a hoot doing it too. With different props we tried to look as sporty as we possibly could but laughter ensued and we just couldn’t stop, I even attempted to do a cartwheel (albeit, a terrible one at that!)

It was great fun watching everyone else have their photo shoot too, some oozed confidence in the front of the camera and just totally worked it. For me, I was in a daze as I couldn’t believe I was at the same event as some bloggers that I’ve looked up to for a long while such as Paige from PaigeJoanna and Charlotte from Things I Think, Do & Buy. I almost had to pinch myself as these were the bloggers who inspired me just over 4 years ago to start documenting my life and thoughts on the world wide web. It was a great opportunity!

After we had lunch it was time for a Q&A session with Boohoo’s resident nutritional expert, it was great to hear advice on how you can change your diet in the simplest of ways to make sure you are giving your body exactly what you need. I am a big sucker for sweeteners and was astounded to find that it was worse using them than actual sugar in cups of tea! But I think the real goal is to not need either of them #oops. We were treated to a session of ”Ravercise” which happens to be one of the funniest ways to work out, pretty much anything goes so long as you look like you have been transported to a 90’s underground rave! The video footage shows just how crazy it was – I’m not sure we have any classes round here!

It was such a fun day, from being pampered to feel like a million dollars to the sweating like a (pig) fox, it was a great way to showcase the new Fit range to us. Every time I go to the gym now, I’m always wearing something from the Boohoo range to give me that extra sass! It’s encouraged me to work harder and stronger to achieve a much healthier lifestyle.

Have you seen the Boohoo fit range? Have you bought anything? Also, what type of sport do you do? I’d love to hear from you.
