It’s one of those funny stages of the year, when you look outside your window at 7am in the morning you can see nothing but fog for miles but by lunchtime the sun is out and it’s sweltering, I mean how on earth are you meant to plan your wardrobe based on this? When payday hit I knew it was time to add some basics to my wardrobe that would see me through this turbulent period. I wanted a thin roll neck and Boohoo answered my prayers with this grey version that I’ve found myself reaching for most days for work. It’s a nice light material but the long sleeves come in handy for when it is a little cooler. I paired it with this gorgeous new faux fur gilet, it’s actually from the New Look range on ASOS. I tried to find it direct with New Look but couldn’t seem to find the same version so I added this to my online basket straight away. It’s super cosy!

On the first day of October I headed out to lunch with my best friend, because the sun was shining we decided to go a little bit al fresco in Autumn and dine outside. It’s the cutest little off street café we went to. We are so lucky to have these sweet deli-style eateries on our high street. There’s more & more opening as well, which is a great sign. I love the new choices and variety we have. I went for a tuna, red onion and mozzarella panini to keep the hunger at bay and finished my lunch nicely with 2 scoops of Yorvale Mint Choc Chip ice-cream (my favourite!)

Seeing as I was meeting a friend or lunch I decided it was time to bring out my trusty pair of Chelsea Boots from last years F&F Clothing range. They are super comfy and I know I can trust them not to cripple me after a whole day of wearing them.

After a good natter over my lunch hour, a huge catch up was required as we’d both just got back off our holiday’s. I think we both needed something to take our mind off the fact we were back in the UK and it was another long wait till we were both heading off for some sun again. So painful chatter aside we both had a lovely reminisce about our travels and where we would love to head to next.

We’ve got a long stretch of winter ahead and I’m longing (already) for the days we have lighter nights again. I can’t seem to adjust to the nights drawing in around 7pm. It seemed to have happened in the blink of an eye, without prior warning & I’m not too sure I’m okay with this. I’ve found myself heading up to bed this week around 8 o’clock because my mind cannot process that it’s still early. I can’t decide if the jet lag has got to me in a serious way or it’s just me not accepting the fact it is now Autumn. All I do know is whilst I love big cosy jumpers and throws like this one I’m wearing, I am definitely a sun-worshipper and need those nice light, bright days again!

How are you coping with Autumn? Do you love the cosy nights? Or are you already longing for Summer 2016?
