They really do say laughter is the best medicine. It’s free and so easy to obtain, it’s all within our own power to use it. So why on earth don’t we rely on it a lot more? I feel like the world can be such a sad, sorry state of affairs where everyone gets so consumed with political correctness and the monstrosities that go on that we just need to let ourselves be a little bit more, well, free.

HAPPY (2)

I use Twitter a lot, most days it’s a wonderful place where I can catch up with my blogging friends and it’s my go-to stop when I want to know what’s going on in the world. The rest of the time, well, it can be a little bit tedious. I get that it is a public domain with plenty of opinions and discussion to be had, some I will actively partake in, but sometimes it just goes a little too far. If you ever find yourself in that situation where you can’t be bothered to refresh the feed (whether you are involved in or are bearing witness to something that you don’t want to or have to see) the best advice I can give you is take a little bit of time away from social media. Put the phone down, go have a conversation with a person who is near you. Go do something that you enjoy. Laugh it off. Laugh till your belly hurts at the things that make you smile.

NIGHT FEVER (2)

Another story from social media this week comes from Beth at Cow Hearted Girl, who was so horribly trolled on her Instagram account. Rather than go away & cry about it she took it as an opportunity to tell this little trollop that their words can’t hurt her & that it did not effect her one little iota. I was so proud of Beth for doing that. She then posted it on Twitter and we all shared stories and laughed about it. We all took positives from what was seemingly a terrible situation to be found in. I hope that if anyone else found themselves in that situation they could find the courage to behave and execute themselves in the way Beth did and be able to look back on it and go “HAHA DICKHEADS!”

It’s no lie, I’m generally most happy when I’m watching a funny youtube video or finding a pretty sweet GIF to share with my friends online. For me it’s a way to shut off & sometimes feel a little more free from life’s responsibilities. I’m simple, I accept that. I’m not a deep person, but it doesn’t mean I don’t have opinions on things, I just choose to de compartmentalise my thoughts and feelings because I know that if I sat and thought about everything I would be one very self-consumed, very sad (as in the boohoo kind) person. I do wanna see the world through rose-tinted glasses because I want to believe that good can be found in the darkest hours. Why should I be made to feel like that’s the wrong way to deal with life? It’s not incorrect for wanting to enjoy the little things in life and laugh about them.

SMILE (2)

Some people may say I’m childish, others may say selfish. But what is life without laughter, well it’s no life at all, is it darling?
