I think everyone needs a little bit of “Hygge” in their life. It’s a way of life that has been fully embraced by the UK over the last few months, this Danish concept roughly translates to “cosiness” within ones home and life. It’s a term that is definitely one I want to embrace, especially through the winter months when the weather becomes significantly cooler. Being snug is a top priority. One way that can drastically change a home in to ultimate comfort is by lighting several scented candles (heart eyed emojis all round) and making the house smell nice in the process too. I’ve been pretty darned stressed out these last few months due to one thing and another so making sure I’m feeling relaxed and surrounded by a conducive environment is paramount. We are in the midst of re-modelling our kitchen. I couldn’t think of anything more Hygge than having a large bookshelf or a hoard of books ready to be read. I’ve been reading a few more self-help books to channel a more positive outlook on life in amongst my easy reading fiction novels that I always manage to get lost in. Put all the above together in one room and quite frankly, it’s a great recipe to making a home more Hygge. Would you agree?
