THE BEST PLACES TO TRAVEL TO ENJOY YOUR NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS* | QUEENBEADY
January 13, 2017
New Years Resolutions. You either love them, or you hate them. Some of you believe this is the time to create a new you, others couldn’t give two hoots. But how about if you could incorporate some of the things you want to do or change with your travel plans. They do say “that travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer” and if that’s anything to go by, I’m definitely up for that. If you’ve got some NY rezzies, here’s some of my top picks with CheapFlights* on how you can enjoy ticking off some bucket list destinations whilst feeling good about yourself!
WHAT? TO RELAX AND UNWIND MORE
WHERE? MALDIVES HOW? YOU’RE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, ON A SMALL ISLAND WITH ENDLESS SUPPLY OF COCKTAILS, YOU TELL ME HOW YOU COULD RELAX MORE? This place will ALWAYS be one of those bucket list destinations. Whilst a little bit on the pricier side, if you are promising yourself a week or two of no technology ad pure self indulgence, the Maldive Islands will be where you find it. With hotels boasting gourmet restaurants and award winning spa’s you are pretty much guaranteed a holiday of sheer bliss
WHAT? TO LOVE & FIND YOURSELF
WHERE? SKOPELOS, GREECE HOW? RELIVE THE CLASSIC “MAMMA MIA” BECAUSE THAT FILM IS TOTAL GIRL POWER STUFF Greece has always been one of my favourite holiday destinations. There is just something so freeing about the mediterannean sea, the blazing sunshine and lush islands that allow yourself to just enjoy being in the moment. I could also highly recommend Corfu & Kefalonia because the way of life is so relaxing on the Ionian Islands…
WHAT? TO BECOME TOTALLY SELFISH AND PUT YOU FIRST
WHERE? NEW YORK CITY HOW? HEAD TO MACY’S AND #TREATYOSELF If there is anywhere in the world you could totally indulge yourself in everything you ever dreamt of, then let that by NYC. High at the top of my bucket list, I’m dreaming of the day I can go wild with my card at Macy’s and Bloomingdales without any guilt whatsoever. Sometimes when making resolutions we are so hard on ourselves, so let’s make it the year of self-love!
WHAT? TO BE MORE ADVENTEROUS
WHERE? MADEIRA
HOW? WALK THE GLASS WALKWAY OR HEAD ON A JEEP SAFARI ALONGSIDE THE MOUNTAINOUS EAST COAST I never thought I’d fall in love with Madeira quite as much as I did, but, I fell hook, line & sinker for it. You could fill each day with adventure, climb the highest peaks on the island (with jaw dropping descents), walk on the glass walk way at Cabo Gairo Cliffs. There is something for everyone here if you want to live a little bit dangerously (or not so much) if you want to add a little bit of adventure in your life.
WHAT? TO FIND LOVE
WHERE? PARIS
HOW? I DON’T HAVE THE ANSWER If I did have the answer I’d let you know, but after all, they do say Paris is the City of Love. Maybe just avoid the Love Lock bridge and cutesy couples getting engaged at the top of the Eiffel Tower? (Or is that just me being cynical?)
WHAT? TO DETOX
WHERE? SWITZERLAND HOW? GO SKIING OR HEAD TO A YOGA RETREAT IN THE MOUNTAINS They say Switzerland has one of the least polluted air systems in the world, so why not head here and enjoy the fresh air. Either go skiing to burn some calories or head to one of their extensive retreats in the mountains to get back on track and to a healthier you.
WHAT? TO WRITE A BOOK
WHERE? OSLO, NORWAY HOW? ENJOY THEIR ENDLESS SUPPLY OF GREAT COFFEE SHOPS The Norwegians are pretty darned lucky, their endless supply of cute, hygge-like cafes are what every bloggers dreams are made of. Plus they pride themselves on being quality coffee drinkers. So find a spot, with your MacBook or even a pen and paper, grab a cute coffee (complete with coffee art, duh? And Instagram that shit and let them eat it up) and set to it.
Will any of these destinations be added to your bucket list? Or do you have any other worldly ideas to help with your NY resolutions?
