I’m currently working on my blog on a Saturday morning and trying to keep the channels off the news. It’s not that I’m not interested in the painful Paris attack, far from it, I just can’t cope with all the pain and atrocities that seem to be happening all too frequent recently. Even the whiny-voiced characters on the Simpsons is more soothing. What is typically a French inspired outfit I wore the other day, it’s hard not to address and touch slightly on the delicate matter of those who lost their lives in such a horrendous way on Saturday night. I guess I feel like writing about style or fashion is my way of sheltering myself from this awful world we live in. But I know deep in my heart, I’m thinking of you. I’m thinking of you all.

Leather & Stripes

Pop of Colour

It’s been mild this last week. It’s not warranted wearing a large coat, you never know from one day to the next what to wear. Seasons still exist but every now and then they seem to merge and it throws chaos in to my wardrobe and I never quite know what to do. So my answer, stripes. Stripes are something that you can wear all year round and pair it with a leather jacket, you are ready to conquer, Autumn, Winter, Spring AND Summer. It’s a fail safe option. Add a good, trusty pair of loafers and you have it covered.

The beautiful leather loafers in question are from Dune and quite frankly, one of the most gorgeous pairs of shoes I have ever owned (well, except for my wedding shoes of course) I love the croc style effect on them and they have quite a bit of weight behind them so I know they are going to last. I picked them up in the Selfridges sale and I haven’t looked back since – I just need to find away to stop getting blisters so any advice would be greatly appreciated please.

Because the outfit was very monochrome I decided to add my Michael Kors bag to give it a little pop of colours, because lets face it Black & White are an amazing combo but sometimes you just need a little something to brighten up your day and that’s exactly what this bag does. It’s a real deep burnt orange come red colour and it’s a pretty nifty size making it real easy to take places.

How are you dressing for Winter? Have you any tips of how to keep up with the ever-changing climate/weather? I’d love to know in the comments below.
