At the moment I’ve really been reflecting on how happy I am. It sounds so corny but life at the moment is pretty good, things are making me smile and I’m encouraging myself day by day to cherish just the smallest things in life that make me happy, it seems that so much is happening at the moment which is making that an easy task. I’m making sure that I’m not running myself in to the ground either. Accepting things with my blog that I only want to do and not stretching myself socially or professionally.
It seems that this tactic is working, because I genuinely feel more like “me” – I have got to know my limits, sadly by pushing myself too far time and time again. I’ve finally found that happy medium where I am juggling things really well in my life (jokes, because I literally can’t juggle balls for shit.) I think the weather helps too. The lighter nights are something that I look forward to every winter, there’s just something so unnatural about going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. Now, the sun is shining on a more frequent basis and the sun is setting just after half past eight means we can go on long walks together after work which frees up some of my mind space, making it easier for me to relax and switch off at night before bed.
When JewelleryBox.co.uk got in touch with me to pick something from their collections, I wanted to pick something that really symbolised how I was feeling at the moment. There were so many cute pieces to choose from but I decided on the bee necklace from the Abella range. It actually looks like a little bee has landed on a sunflower. I recently read a book called “Afternoon Tea at the Sunflower Café” and the connotations of growing tall & strong like a sunflower ran through the book. I completely get it. I’m growing as a person & I’m happy with where I am going in my life, it just seemed so appropriate.
A life filled with laughter is also a top priority for me, be it laughing at the little things that happen in my husband & I’s life, to the times that I get together with my blogging friends who literally make me grin from ear to ear. One way another you’ll always hear me howling within ear shot. I feel like laughter should be celebrated more because it’s intoxicating. Without the fear of sounding really cheesy, my motto at the moment is “Bee Happy” – after all, health & happiness is the most important thing in life!
