Mindfulness Monday #4 | QueenBeady

February 1, 2016

Sky dawn1

I didn’t think that I’d be able to get Mindfulness Monday up first thing, but, I pulled my socks up around 10pm on Sunday night and got writing didn’t I? I’d kick myself if I let this series slip through the net plus it gives me many reasons to smile on a Monday which generally can be a pretty tenuous day of the week. So let’s get straight too it after a much more fun week than before.

Sky1

1. Walking
I keep posting how I’ve been walking a lot and I definitely owe a lot to it after my weight loss. But, the most amazing part of it is when I get to look up at the sky and see beautiful sights. From gorgeous sunrises to perfect cloud clusters in the midst of pale blue. It’s so nice to see the nice weather turning to a more spring like climates. Hooray for lighter nights soon!

2. I lost 8lbs
I did it, I finished my chemical diet on Saturday and I lost 8lbs. Whilst the diet guaranteed to lose a stone, I did cut some corners. I couldn’t be doing without my beloved tea, so I swapped sugar for half a spoon of honey and semi-skimmed milk for almond milk. I definitely feel so much better for it, with a flatter stomach and the confidence to boot. The diet can only be done once every three weeks, so I might give it another go. Once you get used to the diet it’s not too bad. It’s made me think more about the stuff that I put in to my body. Plenty of salads, vegetables and fruit are going to be a huge part of my diet & lifestyle now.

Ted & Muffy1

3. These Ted & Muffy Boots
In all their glory. These Ted & Muffy boots that I was so kindly sent are now my new favourite thing in my wardrobe. The statement boot you could say. They really are an investment piece at around £200 for the Medusa, but oh so worth it. It astonishes me still to this day when brands get in touch wanting to collaborate with my little blog. And that’s how I see it, little. I need to stop selling myself short and realise that it does have potential. It’s okay to champion ourselves sometimes.

4. I even did this post
As much as I love writing about fashion and the style posts I put together, I really enjoy putting together tongue in cheek posts like this one because I think it shows my playful side too. It seemed to go down quite well & of course the boots were a huge hit. Expect more posts like this because I like to make people laugh and even make myself LOL from time to time (is it okay to say that?)

Holiday Ice Lolly1

5. We’ve got our trips planned for 2016
YES! There is nothing more I enjoy than travelling the world. I even wrote about some of my bucket list destinations here. For now we have Madeira in March, a holiday that I fought desperately for in a competition with Ice Lolly after heading to their #BlogAtTheBeach event last year. I booked a surprise trip to Oslo, Norway for my husband’s Christmas present as we’ve always wanted to head to the Norwegian Fjords. Thanks to Ice Lolly I’m collaborating with them on our trip to the Dominican Republic in September which I can’t wait for. We loved Mexico and I’m so ready for powder white sands again. I’m hoping that we might get another trip in somewhere, be it together or for our hen & stag parties that we are both part of the wedding party for. Time will tell, but this year see’s many great trips away!

Blossom

6. Blossom on our tree
I mentioned last week that the tree’s were starting to bud, getting ready for a blossom explosion and my goodness did it come quicker than expected! It arrived a week later and our tree is now filled with the palest pink flowers, it makes looking out on gloomier days a lot prettier. Spring is just around the corner.

Sunday Roast Windmill Inn Linton1

7. Sunday Roast at The Windmill Inn, Linton
Plans went a little pear shaped on Sunday. We were meant to go to Betty’s to celebrate my Mum’s birthday on Sunday but without going in to too much detail it had to be cancelled. I was gutted but Mr C came to the rescue and suggested seen as I’d spent the Saturday, holed up all day without going out we would go for a Sunday roast somewhere. We were so close to booking our local (which never fails!) but we wanted to go somewhere a bit different but without being disappointed, which is always tough! Well, we decided to head to the Windmill Inn in Linton which we’ve been to before and it meant we got to have a little ride out. Oh & ogle at all the massive houses. Because James & I are so in tune (lol) we both ordered chicken liver pate for starter and then roast beef for main. We had booked this pub on the premise that the menu offered Lamb, we were both craving it, but when we sat down with the menu it wasn’t on. But alas, the beef really was delicious. Thick cut sirloin beef and it was so tender. Cooked to perfection. If you are in the area you must try it.

Phew. I’m so glad I managed to get the post done because it’s made me feel a lot more positive about the week to come. I have a few things to look forward to as well so it should be another good week ahead. I’m looking forward to entering February, it means we are one month closer to our next holiday too. Have you had a great week? Looking forward to anything this week? I’d love to know!
